Professor Kwame Ohene Buabeng has been appointed as new the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (KNUST) Kumasi, Ghana. He assumed office on the 1st of November, 2022.
An Associate Professor in Pharmacy Practice, he has over fifty (50) publications and scientific papers to his credit. He has specialised in the areas of Pharmacy Practice, Drug Utilization & Health Systems Research, Infectious Diseases, and Cardiovascular Health.
He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from KNUST and obtained his MSc in Clinical Pharmacology from Aberdeen University, UK, and a Ph.D. in Social Pharmacy (Health Systems & Drug Utilisation Research) from the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists.
Professor Ohene Buabeng’s areas or interests of research are; Pharmacotherapy of Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacotherapy, Prevention and Control of Cardio-metabolic Disorders.
He has taken high-level roles in research, and administrative management at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has served as the Head of the Pharmacy Practice Department, Experiential Training Coordinator of FPPS, and Vice President, of the Ghana College of Pharmacists (GCP).
