The KNUST Pharmacy class of 1999 on the 31st March 2023 presented a plaque to their former classmate Professor Christian Agyare, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences to congratulate him on the Professorial Inaugural lecture organized by the KNUST Public lecture committee under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson.
Presenting the plaque on behalf of the Class of 1999, Dr. Kenneth Abeiku Simmons, stated that the year group is proud of his achievement in academia and the first person to hold a Professorial lecture after the University’s long break on such an event. He described Professor Agyare as a studious person and an exceptional student during their days in school.
Professor Christian Agyare is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Natural Products at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
Professor Agyare’s lecture was on “Treating non-curable infectious diseases and wounds with natural knowledge and products: The relevance of Ethnopharmacological studies.
Professor Agyare highlighted the contribution of herbal medicine in the achievement of SDG 3 and his academic journey in that respect.
