Prof. K. Ofori-Kwakye is a Pharmacist and an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics in the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He served as Vice-Dean (Aug 2014-Jul 2016) and Head of Department of Pharmaceutics (Aug 2004-Jul 2011; Aug 2012-Jul 2016) at KNUST. Prof. Ofori-Kwakye graduated with Bachelor of Pharmacy Second Class Honours (Upper division) degree from KNUST, in October 1989. He undertook graduate studies at King’s College, University of London and graduated in September 1993 with MSc Pharmaceutical Technology (with Distinction). He was appointed a lecturer in Pharmaceutics at KNUST in January 1994. He pursued doctoral studies at the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Manchester, UK, and graduated in 2002 with PhD in Pharmaceutics in the area of Drug Delivery & Dosage Form Design. Prof. Ofori-Kwakye has been a Visiting Scientist and Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics & Nutri-Cosmetics, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany; and the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Madonna University, Elele, Rivers State, Nigeria, respectively. He served as external examiner for the Department of Pharmacy, Central University College, Miotso, Ghana for four years. He has been an external assessor/reviewer for academic staff promotion for University of Ghana, Legon, and University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has supervised several graduate and undergraduate research projects and acted as reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the Editorial Board of African Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy and African Journal of Microbiology Research. He has attended several conferences, workshops, management and leadership courses in countries such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, United Kingdom and Germany.  Prof. Ofori-Kwakye is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists. He is also a member of Institute of Pharmacy Management, UK; and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
