Rita Akosua Dickson (BPharm-Kumasi, PhD-London, GCAP-London, MPSGH) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the College of Health Sciences, KNUST, Kumasi.

She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) and Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degrees from KNUST and holds a PhD and a Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (GCAP) from Kings College, London.

She is a Commonwealth and Norvatis Academic Fellow. Besides teaching and research, she also serves the university, the nation and the international community in various capacities. She is a member of various International Scientific Natural Product Groups including Society of Medicinal Plant Research (GA), International Society of Ethnopharmacology (ISEP), Phytochemical Society of Europe (PSE) and American Society of Pharmacognosists.

She has a number of peered reviewed publications in reputable international journals and is currently a reviewer for a number of refereed journals. She is the Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Ethnomedicine and Pharmacognosy (IJEP) and also serves as a reviewer for South Africa’s National Research Foundation. She has attended and presented at various scientific conferences worldwide.
